The Word Of God

My people perish for lack of wisdom.  (matt.24:35)

      This is a little cut from the last message, the bridge to knowing jesus, it is an expansion of this very significant and easiest way to knowing our friend Jesus.

At the begining of this message, we talked about lack of  wisdom, this wisdom doesn’t imply the wisdom of this world, it talks about another kind of wisdom, wisdom in knowing Jesus, wisdom in learning to obey him regardless of our differences, principles, addictions, habits and so on.

What are we really talking about? The Word Of God, also called the bible. The bible gives us insights on what the Word Of God is really about, infact, it gives us lots of understanding of the word.

Let’s see what the bible tells us about itself;

Hebrews 4:12 KJV

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

It is quick and powerful, sharp and piercing, it is very fast in penetrating into the heart, when you read the Word Of God and there’s a particular sin you commit that is being stated, instantly the Word Of God will point it out, it is very blunt and straight forward, its goes  into the heart and divides the knowledge, word, reasoning, thoughts you have and immediately tells you which is right and wrong, which is acceptable and not, which will draw you closer to your friend Jesus and which would take you farther away.

The Word Of God is very powerful becomes it comes straight from the mind of God, directly. It contains the mind Of God.

If you don’t already know, let me tell you something interesting, God’s word has every answers to every question even than Google, and it is very accurate. If you use Google very well like me, you will notice that sometimes Google could never answer your questions, or when it does it could never answer it the way you want, but I want to assure you and tell you today, that the Word Of God can answer any question you have in your heart, whatever it may be.

1 Jn 2:5

 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

The bible says that when you study the Word Of God and keep every commandment in it, you have that assurance, confident that you are in him, and you grow more in him, you build your love in him, he loves you more.

The Power In The Word Of God does not end there;

What The Word Of God Can Do For You

  Like I mentioned earlier that the Word Of God is able to answer every question you have, let’s see some of the questions we frequently ask and the answers to them.

  1. Why am I not loved?

             Isaiah 54:10 KJV

    For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

    Your family will let you down, your friends will forsake you, even that boy or girl that you were thinking loved you so much they could die for you would leave you, but God said his kindness will never depart from you.

    The bible says greater love hath no man than this than a man should lay down his life for his friend, and the book of 1 Jn. 4:9, Jn 3:16, gives a brief show of how Jesus died for us, because he loves you so much, he can’t bear to see you perish.

    Jeremiah 31:2-3 KJV

       The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying , Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.

    See!! He Loves You!!!

             2. Why am I alone?

         Matthew 28:20 KJV

    Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

    How can you still think you are alone when He promised by himself that he is with you, till the end.

    Why are you still afraid of what others will think or you, all those sinful friends from your past, before you became a friend of Christ, why does your past terrify you? why have you decided to be a slave to sin when you are supposed to reign as a king on everything and anything? (Rom 5:17)

    Hebrews 13:5-6 KJV

    Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

    [6] So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

    He said he will not leave you nor forsake you.NEVER. And, he gave us the confidence to stand against anyone, whoever it is, because HE IS GOD.

              3. What is in it for me when I keep the Word Of God?

    A lot. The bible says in;

    Luke 11:28 KJV

    But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

    You are blessed.

            4. Am I now a friend of God?

         John 8:47 KJV

    He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

    When you lay your ears down for the Word Of God, you are God’s, you are not of the world but of God.

             5. I am shy

             Acts 4:31 KJV

    And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

    When you read the word of God, you overcome your shyness and will not be afraid to talk about Jesus anywhere.

              6. Will I still go back to the world?

       Critical question, a question that will not only require deep thinking but a lifetime commitment to God. And of course the bible has a ready answer.

    Acts 6:2 KJV

    Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them , and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

    When the Word Of God becomes a part of you, going back to the world, forsaking his presence, backsliding, will be a shameful thing to do, you will want to speak the word of God, talk to people about Him, read his word and communicate with him at any time you get, (Jeremiah 20:9 KJV

    Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay .)

    All you need do is read his word today, get a bible reading plan, you can download one using this link:

    If you have a question that you think the answer  is not in the bible, feel free to post them to me, the lord will answer it all.

    Let’s say a prayer: Father, we thank you for your wonderful Word, that always edifies our life, may your name be glorified in Jesus name.

    Amen.

    Have a lovely week ahead!!!

    The Bridge To Knowing Jesus

    Remember, in the last message,  the lonely, we talked about a friend who can understand, who can heal all wounds. Now, we will talk about getting to know that friend. Why?

    Take for instance,  you just met a friend today,  and you seem really drawn to each other the first day,  you chat,  you smile and wave goodbye.  The natural thing that happens next is being in contact with that friend,  getting to know more about each other and so on.  But, if after that day,  you do not get in contact with the friend,  it will seem like you never met the person.

    Now,  Who are we talking about?

     JESUS

    A friend that sticks closer than a brother.  When you accepted him as your Lord and personal saviour,  he became your friend,  and he is waiting to chat with you,  he’s waiting to hear about your sorrows,  your pains,  he wants to know more about you,  and the only way to making that happen is by getting to know him.

    That is where,  the bridge to knowing Jesus comes in.

    A bridge connects two different parts together,  it’s creates a way to the other side.

    So,  in other to know Jesus,  and to be sure you are friends with him,  the following things are needed; (because you can’t just sit in your house believing that you are friends with someone when you haven’t even spoken with them for weeks,  you have to be in contact to solidify the friendship)

    1. Hebrews 10:25, says;

     Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

    Not forsaking the assembling of believers,  attend church services,  a Bible believing church,  where the raw word of God is preached, and after hearing the word,  Go back to the Bible and check every word. Acts 17:11 (like the biblical Berea,  who made sure to search the scriptures daily,  to know if the word they heard were so)

    2. Prayer

    The Bible says,  pray without ceasing 1 thess 5:17, the most wonderful and easiest way to talk to our friend,  JESUS, is by praying,  it connects us to him,  and we can pour our heart to him,  and talk to him as a friend, (it is like chatting or calling your friend on the phone, the only difference is faith,  believe he is there listening to you, believe he loves you,  that you were not excluded from the list of the people he came to die for).

    You don’t need to stress,  just pray.

    3. Praise and worship

    Praise the Lord,  praise God at any chance you get,  it makes him happy,  it’s our own way of saying Thank You.  Unlike humans which we can see and give gifts too,  God doesn’t need material gifts all he needs his praises. Rom. 15:11, Hebrews 13:15, tells us about praising the name of the Lord,  even in;

    Rev.19:5: And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

    Praising God is being grateful,  it’s like sending a thank you card or gift to a friend for being there,  and this friend wasn’t just being a friend,  he loved you,  even when you were not looking, when you didn’t notice,  he also protects you,  he makes promises to you and keeps it.

    So it is a good thing to praise him,  we shouldn’t be like those in John 12:43, who loved the praise of men rather than the praise of God.

    4. The Word of God

    The most important way to knowing Jesus is reading his word, which his the Bible,  the Bible is also called the owner’s manual, this is where we can find God’s promises,  stories about Jesus, (it’s like reading the biography of a friend, you get to know him more)  how he is like,  what he likes,  what he dislikes,  so you won’t make him angry, and you get to keep your friendship forever.

    Joshua 1:8, says;

    This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

    The book, which is the Word of God,  not only teaches you but makes you successful,  prosperous in all you do.

    It also have answers to any questions you have in your heart, just the way you would understand it.

    2tim. 2:15; Study The Word Of God today

    God bless you.

    The lonely.

    Hebrew 13:5

    …for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

    There are lots of people out there, they don’t have anyone to talk to, they feel no one understands them. Some even live on people’s opinion about them, they want to be accepted, they want to do everything to please everybody, which is very impossible. Some people delight in making other people feel as worse as they do, because they think they will get happiness from there.

    Loneliness is not just about being alone, it is sometimes about having lots of people around you and no one to talk to or understand or extend warmth to you.

    It creates a burden, pain, and hurt in one’s heart.

    But… The bible says in

    Matthew 11:28

    Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
    So what is that burden in your heart? That heavy weight you carry around? Jesus carried all the sins of the world on his shoulders, which is more than what you are going through now.

    He said, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest

    Are you in that category? Jesus is calling unto you, he wants to be your friend, he wants to connect with you, he wants to hear about everything that makes you unhappy, that makes you cry, he’s ready to wipe away your tears, to draw you closer to him, he loves you, even now that you are far from him, he hates to see you in pain, he wants to make you one of his.

    If you will like a loving friend like this, one with experience, one whom you can share your feelings with, without judgement or shyness, one who won’t get jealous or hateful when you become great, then surrender your life to Jesus Christ now, he is right there where you are, and is ready to hear you as you call. Confess your sins to him, name them one by one, ask him to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Claim the redemptive power in the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross of calvary for the remission of your sins.

    Renounce the world and the devil, be sure you will not go back to the devil, I congratulate you for this decision you have taken. The good news is YOU NOW HAVE A FRIEND… THE BEST FRIEND ANYONE CAN EVER HAVE…

    Am happy for you.

    Jesus cares

    In a bid to launch my new blog, Jesus cares, I have decided to write this.

I know someone who will, he took loving you so seriously, that he decided to die for you, all the pains, loneliness, heartbreak, hatred, you feel now, he already went through it all, just for you, so he could console you when you feel the same. So he could relate with you and show his undying love to you.
